Day 1

Proceed from hotel to Pinnawela elephant
orphanage to view a large herd of elephants including a number of baby elephants, displaced from the wild and provided sanctuary at the elephant orphanage. Leave for Sigiriya; 5th-century rock fortress (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), to view the frescoes, Lion’s Stairway and Mirror Wall. Jeep safari to view wildlife at Minneriya Overnight camping in Minneriya. |
Day 2
|
Breakfast
Leave for Kandy. En route visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Dambulla, a 1st-century BC rock temple complex which has more than 20,000 sq. ft. of 18th-century Buddhist murals. Visit a spice garden en route. In Kandy, take a city tour by three wheeler taxi. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. Evening, view a performance by traditional Kandyan dancers and drummers. Dinner and overnight stay at Queens Hotel, Kandy. |
Day 3
|
Breakfast
Leave by train to Hatton. En route view panoramic scenery and glimpses of local lifestyles. Transfer to Kithulgala, optional downhill biking. Dinner and overnight stay at Kithulgala Rest House or Plantation Hotel. |
Day4
|
Breakfast
Transfer to the starting-point of Rafting. Transfer to hotel in the evening. |
